A colourful backpackers paradise, Shoestrings Backpackers Lodge is located a short 2km walk from the mighty Victoria Falls and focuses on providing affordable and budget friendly accommodation without compromising on comfort.
We offer double, twin rooms and family rooms with private bathrooms or Dorms with bunk beds and access to a communal bathroom. We also offer two bed dome tents or self catering camp sites, both with access to communal ablutions.
For an additional charge you can eat at Shoestrings Cafe where we offer breakfasts, light/main meals, including pizza made in our very own pizza oven!
Our bar is open to all our travellers and locals to enjoy a drink, we do also host local events and performances!
Our central swimming pool provides a fabulous spot to relax and cool off after a day of exploring all that Vic Falls has to offer!
The nearest airport is Victoria Falls Airport, 20 km from the property.

  • Are the prices always the same even if the date changes?
    Prices vary based on various factors which may be seasonal, day of the week, occupation status of the hotel, promotions, particular fairs in the city and more. The advice, to see the prices, is to enter the dates of your stay and make your own comparisons.
  • Is breakfast always included?
    No, it depends on the rate and on the establishment whether it is organized to offer it or not. Check well before booking what is included and what is not and what type of service is offered.
  • Can I make special requests?

  • What types of beds will I find in the room I have booked?
    The type of bed is usually specified in the room card. If you have special requests or needs, you can indicate them at the time of booking by writing them in the "special requests" field which will be forwarded directly to the hotel. In this process MeTour is not responsible.
  • What is Pay in Structural and Payment Pre-Authorization?
    When you book, some establishments offer the possibility to pay directly at the establishment. In these cases you will simply be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, but without any charge. The sum will be withdrawn from your credit card only in the cases provided for by the policies and conditions relating to your reservation. In other cases, when the Partner does not adopt automatic availability and booking systems, but confirms reservations "manually", then you will be asked to insert your credit (or debit) card to guarantee the reservation, to then be charged directly at the same time the Partner confirms the booking (within 24-48 hours). At that moment you will receive an email with the booking confirmation and the payment.
  • How do I know if my card has been pre-authorised?
    Consulting the balance of your credit card you will see that your available balance will be temporarily reduced by the amount of your reservation. In other cases and depending on the policy of your Credit Card circuit, you could also find an entry in the monthly summary of card movements: "operation pending". The blocking of the pre-authorization, depending on the situation, will be maintained according to the policies and terms and conditions of the reservation.
  • How can I cancel or modify my reservation?
    Easy, enter the customer area with your credentials and from there you can modify or cancel your reservation. Remember that changing dates or canceling with a refund request depends on the rate you chose when booking.
  • Can I transfer my reservation to another person?
    For this request, contact the property directly which may have a specific policy in this regard or may need further data on the person to whom you want to transfer the reservation.
