Borghi are small centers (villages or small towns) where time seems to have stopped. They are often fortified medieval citadels in the hinterland, which have a few thousand residents, but a long and important history behind them. Places where people live daily according to the Karma of "slow". A peaceful life, without stress, without the useless rushes of the modern era, but where everything still follows the rhythm of the seasons. Pearls, usually outside the normal mass tourist flows, a heritage of important monuments and memories, where to find those atmospheres, those smells and those flavors that make "typicality" a model of life that is worth "enjoying" with everyone senses. Jewels, in very few cases, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If you want to discover fascinating hidden places, far from the usual tourist tours, still real and not contaminated by modern rhythms, where you can still taste ancient peasant flavors from 0 km raw materials, we have created guides for you on the most beautiful villages in Italy, where to live your next unforgettable weekends.
I underline that our guide highlights only a few (among the many villages in Italy that deserve it) because they are better preserved, more scenic and more beautiful to visit...but there are certainly many others that deserve our attention and a your visit. So, for all those villages that you cannot find here, but which in your opinion deserve to be there, we will be happy to receive your reports, sensations and photos, so as to build, together with you, an increasingly complete guide!!
A piece of advice, however: LIVE the Villages (!) AND DON'T SIMPLY VISIT THEM, if you can, even sleep there for a few nights, talk to the local elders, let them tell you their stories, taste some of their simplest traditional dishes, immerse yourself in the atmosphere and in their "slow" living... I assure you that you will return to your life enriched with an experience that you will not easily forget!!
